Fire & EMS coverage
What the county's fire and EMS radio shows about workload: calls by town and hour, and which units are running the most.
Counts only; no names, addresses or live positions.
Units
Home town = where a unit is heard most. "Other towns" is usually mutual aid, but some units serve several towns by design.
Source: Cape Dispatch's scanner transcripts of Cape May County fire/EMS dispatch (published calls only, sensitive calls excluded). Units are only counted when the dispatcher says them and the transcript catches it, so treat unit numbers as a floor. Summer population is several times the census count, so per-resident rates run high in beach towns in season.
